WYUAを法人化して、10年。

これまでのご支援に感謝を込めて、「WYUA法人化10周年プロジェクト」を始動しました。

WYUAを設立した当初、多くのメンバーは大学生でした。
「当時の私たちを支えてくださった方々へ、元気な姿を見せてお礼をしたい。
今度は、年を重ねた私たちが“支える側”になりたい、世界のウチナーンチュと一緒に」

そんな想いからこの企画が生まれ、ボリビアとペルーのウチナーンチュが描いたイラストをグッズにしました。

今年は戦後80年の節目。
ハワイやハワイのウチナーンチュともつながりの深い「ひめゆり平和祈念資料館」へ、WYUAオリジナルグッズの売上の一部を寄付いたします。

To express our gratitude for all the support we’ve received over the years,
we have launched the “WYUA 10th Anniversary Project.”

When WYUA was first founded, most of our members were still university students.

“We wanted to show our gratitude to those who supported us back then — to show how we’ve grown, and now, as we’ve matured, to become the ones who support others, together with Uchinanchu around the world.”

That heartfelt wish inspired this project, which features original goods illustrated by Uchinanchu artists from Bolivia and Peru.

This year marks 80 years since the end of World War II, a meaningful milestone for Okinawa and the world.
As part of this anniversary project, a portion of the proceeds from WYUA’s original goods will be donated to the Himeyuri Peace Museum, which shares deep historical and cultural ties with Hawai‘i and the Uchinanchu community there.
